SKELETON

The perfect combination of speed, fluidity and fearlessness, Skeleton is an individual Winter Olympic sport where athletes travel head first down a bobsleigh track, on a sled about the size of a bodyboard at speeds of up to 145km/h without brakes. The start requires equal measures of leg strength, power, speed, flexibility and coordination as the athletes push their sleds from a stationary position to top speed while running downhill, before loading on to the sled and navigating the rest of the track. Races consist of two or four heats where the fastest combined time wins.
